Thanks to its location on a south-west facing corner and ceiling-high windows, the building is laden with natural light. Simple, classic decor lends to a calm, pared back atmosphere, with recycled and repurposed furniture, wooden tables and floors.
We have a wine list focusing on small producers who allow the grapes in the field, and then the wine in the cellar, to develop into a true expression of that region at that time, with minimal intervention. We also have a refined but diverse selection of cask & draft beers, and a good choice of spirits and cocktails.
This focus on a small but well delivered offering, plus our attention to warm hospitality has helped establish The Green as a locals’ favourite.
We acquired The Green in 2016. Our plans for a full refurbishment in 2020 were delayed but are making progress.
