Walking past the beautiful decaying façade of this building one too many times, we set out on a mission to preserve its history and make this building relevant again after many years of closure.
Together with joint-venture partners, we acquired the site in 2016 and worked closely with the London Borough of Tower Hamlets to obtain consent for the transformation of the site.
We received full planning consent to realise our vision in 2018 but committed to focusing on another one of our hotel projects in the neighbourhood – The Buxton – we decided to sell the site to French alternative and innovative real estate investment funds Keys Asset Management as a site earmarked by Accor for the London debut of their brand Jo & Joe.
